posted 26 May 2012, 04:28 by Unknown user

Chenies2012 have asked us to highlight to the residents of Chorleywood that our neighbours have got lots of plans to celebrate the Jubilee in style on Monday 4th June 2012.

Village Day
A permit has been organised to close the main road through the village and the Village Day Celebrations are taking part along the road and adjoining grass area (approx 500m long & 20m wide). There will be a Children’s Fun Fair, Army Rifles Regiment Paint Ball Range, Little Fox Market, School and Village Fete, Producers Area, Traction Engines, Classic Cars, Live Music, Morris Dancers and much more.

Helicopter Flights
Heli-Air in Denham will be operating Helicopter Pleasure Flights from the village all day.

The Red Lion and Bedford Arms will be serving food and drink all day.

Lashings World XI Cricket Match
We have been lucky enough to secure the Lashings World XI Cricket team who are coming to Chenies and Latimer Cricket Club to play a Chenies Guest XI. The Chenies and Latimer side includes Neil Dudgeon(DCI Barnaby) and Jason Hughes(DS Jones) from ITV’s Midsomer Murders along with some local Cricketing talent while the Lashings World XI side includes some big names from Cricket such as Devon Malcolm, Gordon Greenidge, Saqlan Mustaq, Colin Croft and Phil Defreitas to name a few.

Henry ‘Blowers’ Blofeld, of Test Match Special and Radio 5 Live fame, will be providing a live commentary around the ground.
There will be food outlets, a Pimms and Beer Tent and other attractions at the ground, including a children’s play area.
Evening Beacon Party
In the evening we are holding a Beacon Party in a large marquee at Chenies and Latimer Cricket Club, popular local band ‘Cool Beans’ will be playing all evening and there will be Bars and Hot Food Outlets available. At 10.26pm we will be lighting our specially commissioned Jubilee Beacon in line with the National Network of Jubilee Beacons.

The party will then continue in to the small hours!
