Christchurch Flower Festival - Sat 13 and Sun 14 July 2013

Happening at the same time as the Chorleywood Village Day is a Flower Festival (running on both Saturday and Sunday) in Christchurch.


The Flower Festival has 'Celebrating Chorleywood' as its theme on Village Day weekend. Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of magnificent and imaginative floral displays in the Grade 2* listed church by the Common.

The Flower Festival will draw inspiration from things of significance from the local community such as the River Chess, the Metropolitan Line, William Penn and the (infamous) Chorleywood bread process for the subjects of the floral displays which will be exhibited from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday and 2pm to 5pm on Sunday.

In total there will be 24 floral displays designed by members of the local community including Chorleywood Gold and Tennis clubs, pupils from the adjacent school and members of four Chorleywood churches.

Some of the sloral displays will include
  • Sir Henry Wood
  • Quaker Leader William Penn
  • Sir George Alaxendar
  • Chorleywood Station

There will also be a floral display commemorating Chorleywood residents who died in the two World Wars.

The exhibition is FREE to attend, cream teas and refreshement will be available and any donations and proceeds will go to Watford New Hope Trust.
