Welcome to the Chorleywood Residents' Association website

We are the main independent, not-for-profit voice for Chorleywood. When you live in Chorleywood you automatically become a member of the Residents’ Association. Please get in touch with us if you have any matters you’d like to discuss or would like to be involved.

Would you like to be the next CRA Treasurer?

The Chorleywood Residents Association is in need of a new Treasurer to join our vibrant and friendly Executive Committee to replace Kalpna, who will officially stand down at our next 20th May AGM. It is not an onerous role, just needing familiarity with spreadsheets and on-line banking, dealing with a gross income of around £10k pa. It includes providing occasional status reports to the committee. Some book keeping or accountancy experience would be helpful.

It would be best to come forward now so there can be a couple of months overlap.  Please contact jane@chorleywoodresidents.co.uk if you are willing to help our Association.

New Local Plan for Three Rivers including Chorleywood

Three Rivers District Council (TRDC) published a Potential Sites Document on Friday 26th October 2018 as part of creation of a New Local Plan. This new Local Plan will directly influence planning decisions within TRDC, including Chorleywood, for the next 10-15 years. See our Local Plan page for more information about these sites.

Update October 2019 - We are delighted that the council have recently announced that, as part of a revised plan for developing the Local Plan, it will be engaging with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government to discuss reducing the targets for house building so as to take account of more up to date population and living data and to protect more of the Green Belt. As part of the new plan, it is expected that Public Consultation on the Local Plan and the sites selected for development , which had previously been expected to commence shortly, will now not occur until next summer.

Update January 2020 - a proposal for use of the land at East Green Street has been made. As this is an important matter for Chorleywood we have set up a dedicated page on our website. The web page includes links to the detailed information about the proposal presented at the public exhibition on 12th and 13th November, the public meeting on 20th November arranged by CRA, and also links to email communications. In January 2020 an Environmental Impact Scoping Opinion Request (EIAS) was made, and we now expect the planning application not to be submitted until February or March 2020.

We will continue to send occasional email communications to our subscribers when there is additional relevant information.

About Us

The Chorleywood Residents' Association (Hertfordshire, UK) is a non-party political association that is passionate about maintaining the special character of Chorleywood.

The work of the Association is championed by the Executive Committee, a dedicated enthusiastic body of volunteers, committed to representing all residents of Chorleywood Parish and campaigning on their behalf.

The Executive Committee is supported in this work by the Resident Representatives and others who distribute items of interest to residents in the road they represent. This may include newsletters, leaflets and surveys.

We hope that this website will be a focal point for the residents of Chorleywood and with your help and support we can become a valuable source of information for the local community.
