Chorleywood Amateur Dramatic Society - "Rumours"

posted 27 Oct 2019, 00:35 by Chorleywood Residents' Association
Chorleywood Amateur Dramatic Society (CADS) returns to the Chorleywood Memorial Hall on 7-9th November with Neil Simon’s hilarious comedy, Rumours.

Intrigue, humour and suspense abound as guests arrive at the tenth wedding anniversary party of prominent government official Charlie Brooks. Why has the host shot himself? Where is his missing wife? And why is there no food? The evening unravels into chaos with miscommunication and non-stop laughter as the party guests desperately try to hush up a potential scandal.

Director, Matthew Hunt says: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 14 years of performing comedies for the local community. This play was Neil Simon’s first foray into farce and has now made it all the way from Broadway to Chorleywood. It offers something for everyone and you’re guaranteed to leave with a smile on your face.

Neil Simon is widely regarded as one of the most successful, prolific and performed playwrights in the world, with more Academy and Tony nominations than any other writer. In addition to Lost In Yonkers, which won a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize, his plays and musicals include Come Blow Your Horn, Little Me, Barefoot in the Park and The Odd Couple.
