Chorleywood and District RSPB - "Bird Flight"

posted 27 Oct 2019, 00:34 by Chorleywood Residents' Association
The 21st November talk at Chorleywood and District RSPB Group, is called 'Bird Flight'. Speaker, Dr. Edward Eastwood.

Bird Flight is a truly spectacular, natural phenomenon, giving these creatures their obvious appeal and fascination. Who were the first birds? What adaptations enabled them to lift off the ground? What is the advantage of flying in flocks and can we learn anything from them that is useful in designing our own flying machines? These and other questions will form a flight packed evening.  Dr Eastwood is a retired academic, who taught Animal Behaviour, Bio-mechanics and Neurophysiology. He is also very amusing!

Venue: The Florence Brown Hall, Hillside Road, Chorleywood, WD3 5AP starting at 8pm. Cost for non members £3.50. There is no need to book. These are public talks to which all are invited. For more information phone 01923 897885 or see www.rspb.org.uk/groups/chorleywood
