Metropolitan Line Update

posted 1 Dec 2019, 12:06 by Chorleywood Residents' Association
An extra meeting of the Federation of Metropolitan Line Users' Committees (FOMLUC) held at TfL HQ at Bakers Street was held on the 12th November in view of the number of recent service failures on the Met. Failed trains and especially poor communications via station staff and incorrect announcement display boards were complained about.  Tfl promised to review their communication methods for updating the boards and getting information to their staff.

New lifts are to be provide by Spring 2020 at Harrow on the Hill where many passenger change platforms to and from faster trains.

The full new smart signalling system on the Met will be complete by December 2022 after which we can expect faster trains and more per hour.

A reminder that the until Sunday 22 December a new autumn timetable is in operation on the Metropolitan line as part of plans to prevent services being affected by leaf fall. There will be minor changes to train times during this period. Download a copy of the new timetable. The previous timetable will resume from Monday 23 December.

And following the recent issues TfL have said that they we will be automatically refunding customers where there has been disruption resulting in them being delayed for over 15 minutes.
