New Cricket Pavilion

posted 1 Dec 2019, 12:06 by Chorleywood Residents' Association
There are exciting new plans for a new cricket pavilion, cafe/tea room and community hub in Chorleywood.

The local charity Mission EmployAble and Chorleywood Cricket Club (CWCC) have now submitted plans to Three Rivers District Council to build a stunning new cricket pavilion, cafe/tea room and training facility for young adults with learning disabilities.

You can see the full plans at

If approved by the Three Rivers District Planning Committee, Parish Council and DEFRA, the Chorleywood Cricket Club will be supported by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to extend its provision to provide cricket facilities for all, including women and the disabled.  The new facility has been designed to benefit all users of The Common: dog walkers, runners, horse riders, older people, cyclists and ramblers and also support volunteering and promote social inclusion, resilience and understanding.

Mission EmployAble is a UK registered charity which supports people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives.  They will run a new training cafe / tea room from the new pavilion for cricketers and the community. It will train people with learning disabilities, helping them lead fulfilled lives working and contributing to their local area.

Mission EmployAble and CWCC hope to have the new pavilion built by April 2021 with a view to it opening on village day in July 2021. They are seeking the support of the local community to make this ambition a reality and help raise the necessary funds.
