New golf course and football pitches for Chorleywood

posted 27 Oct 2019, 00:36 by Chorleywood Residents' Association
Chiltern Hills Golf Course is to submit plans for new football pitches and a golf driving range at Green Street in Chorleywood.

The company has planning permission for an eighteen hole golf course but instead plans to open only nine and create a driving range and football pitches on the remaining land. The new nine hole golf course is nearly complete. It is currently maturing and expected to open as a pay and play facility in 2021 alongside the new driving range.

The football pitches will be developed in conjunction with Chorleywood Common Youth Football Club. The club needs the facilities to complement its existing Chorleywood House site, particularly as it has recently started several new girls’ teams.

Guy Allen, Chairman of CCYFC, said “We are very excited about the opportunity to develop additional pitch space to support the club’s continued growth.  These facilities are much needed to help accommodate more of the 150 kids currently on our waiting list and a rapidly expanding girls’ section which now accounts for over 20% of our players.”

The concept of combining a range of family friendly sporting activities within walking distance of the village and station is very exciting for Chorleywood.”

Following a positive initial meeting with Chiltern District Council, the planning application is expected to be submitted in November 2019.
