Parish Council Elections

posted 12 May 2016, 13:26 by Phil Ellis   [ updated 13 May 2016, 01:05 ]
At the recent Parish Council AGM, three Councillors from North Ward resigned.

These vacancies can be filled in one of two ways – by holding an election or by individuals being co-opted.

In the interests of democracy, Chorleywood Residents' Association believes that an election is the correct route. This can only be called if at least ten residents of North Ward respond in writing to the Returning Officer, Three Rivers House, by the 27th May. Otherwise the vacancies will be filled by co-option. Please note that should an election be called, you don't have to live in North Ward to stand as a candidate. You can live anywhere in the Parish or within 3 miles of the Parish boundary.

If you live in North Ward and feel that an election best serves the community, please look at this notice on the Parish website for instructions www.chorleywood-pc.gov.uk/pdf/chorleywood-notice-of-vacancy-9thMay16.pdf.
