Pothole Repairs

posted 27 Jul 2020, 04:07 by Chorleywood Residents' Association
At the CRA we know that potholes and their repair are an important issue for residents.  There has been concern that potholes are filled, but no longer appear to be sealed around the edges.  The CRA have been in discussions with Herts County Council (HCC) and Ringway who have the contract to repair our potholes.

According to Ringway, the contract with the HCC states that the method to be used for pothole repair is to apply emulsion on the vertical faces and base before reinstating the patch. The surface sealing which we used to see has been removed for safety reasons as it makes the surface slippery for motorbike riders and cyclists.
For those interested in understanding why some potholes are repaired and some roads resurfaced when others, appearing to be in a in worse condition, are not, you can see the full reply from HCC via this link.
