Ringway Contract

Ringway, the County Council’s main highways contractor, was fined £671,546 over the last two full financial years for failing to do work it was paid for. In response to a question by Lib Dem Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst it was revealed that Ringway was fined £421,321 in 2013/14 and another £250,225 in 2014/15. These fines under the terms of the County Council contract relate to the delivery of work on a regular basis, such as not responding to emergency road repairs, not gritting a route within the target timeframe or working without a road permit. Included in the fines are performance deductions – an annual calculation across the entire service in respect of general failure to do jobs they are tasked with correctly.

Clearly  these comments cover the whole County and it is not possible to state which exact part of the revelations apply to Chorleywood but it is self evident that some must be for matters close to home.
