Chorleywood Village Day - Pimms o'clock at the CRA stand

posted 20 Jul 2013, 01:38 by Unknown user   [ updated 26 Aug 2013, 12:43 ]
After the disappointment of two cancelled dates for Village Day in 2012 due to inclement weather, we were spoiled this year.
Chorleywood was basking in a heatwave and unbroken sunshine for Chorleywood Village Day on Saturday 13th July 2013.

With almost 100 organisations participating in the event, and assoicated flower and horticultural shows at Christchurch and the Memorial Hall there was something for everyone on the Common, and despite the very warm weather there was a good turnout.

The Residents' Assoication was dispensing Pimms and talking to many local residents on a number of issues, such as planning, dog fouling, the proposed play area, among others. We even signed up some new members! All the proceeds from village day event - expected to be in excess of £300 - will be donated to Watford Mencap who run facilities in Chorleywood. Thankyou to everyone who stopped by and had a chat, or enjoyed a Pimms....
