Search and Rescue exercise this evening - Chorleywood Common

posted 24 Nov 2011, 03:14 by Unknown user
Please note we have received communication from the Rickmansworth Fire Service to advise the following
Rickmansworth Fire Brigade Green Watch plan to Run an exercise on Chorleywood Common on Thursday 24th November 2011 at about 7.30pm. This would probably run for 90 minutes or so. The exercise will probably consist of a scenario involving missing children on the common who have come a cropper in one of the ponds and/or the drainage tunnel.
There will be 3-4 fire engines and possibly 1 or 2 special appliances.
They propose to use the car park by the railway bridge as the first access and depending on how it develops the golf club car park as well. They will ensure all appliances are off the roads. The exercise will be set to test our wide area searching, water rescue, confined space and various other things that we have to do, and will have to be flexible depending on the actual conditions at the time;
Also please bear in mind that Green watch Rickmansworth are responsible for community safety in the Chorleywood area and if you would like us to speak to any community groups or meetings, this can be arranged.
We are sharing this information so that residents are not unduly concerned by any activities happening on the Common this evening.
