There's a buzz about The Hive in Chorleywood

There have been moves afoot over recent months to create a new focal point for local community in the Lower Road and Main Parade area, and these aspirations are shortly coming to reality.

The project has in part been motivated by Sheratons, a long standing fixture on the corner of Lower Road and Shire Lane, vacating their current premises on the 28th February, and a desire to see some of the space devoted to support community activities. A group was set up, headed up by Simone Tyson of Chorleywood Mums, but also included The Chorleywood Magazine, Vic the owner of Budgens, local councillors, our local police, the local churches and some of the local businesses as well as the Residents' Association and others too numerous to mention.

For those who haven’t heard of “the Hive”, it’s a project to set up a community centre in Chorleywood with an initial focus on local young people, the elderly, those with special needs and young families.  The quiz is to raise money for this venture. There’s more information in February’s Chorleywood Magazine and a website is in the process of being put together. The Hive is planning on coming soon to the current Sheratons basement, and will be a vibrant community space where Chorleywood residents and friends can come together to relax, play, study & just catch up. The Hive is for you - and it needs your support!

The project team have organised a Quiz Night for the evening of the 9th March at 7:30pm for an 8pm start at the Chorleywood War Memorial Hall.
  • Tickets are £10 each and include a 2 course hot meal.
  • Bar available to purchase drinks.
  • Raffle and great prizes on the night.
  • Table sizes – max 10 people – you can buy a table or a ticket, the choice is yours.

The Residents' Association have a table at the Quiz, so come along and say hello whilst raising money for this very worthwhile community cause.
A flyer for the event is available here.
