Three Rivers District Council - reduced to 39 councillors

posted 15 Oct 2012, 08:32 by Unknown user
We have been informed today by one of our local councillors that the Local Government Boundary Commission has decided that the number of councillors representing the district of Three Rivers will reduce from the current 48 to 39.

As we reported back in August there were effectively three proposals on the table, from the three main political parties. The Council will now start the process reorganising the wards within the District to take account of the reduced numbers, and this process will also be subject to a public consultation with the Commissions decision due to be announced towards the middle of next year.

Elections based upon the new wards will first take place in May 2014.
