Previously residents were permitted to request an additional brown bin. As a result of these changes, the council has written to all households that have more than one brown bin and have stated that as their brown bin collection frequency will double, if they wish to keep their extra brown bin they have to pay £104 per annum. Recycling boxes The change to the recycling collection last year that now almost all plastics except trays that have had raw meat in them, and now more recently that even trays that have had raw meat are accepted if they are washed first has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of recycling in the district to the extent that for some households the existing recycling boxes are overflowing. You will from April be able to request new larger recycling boxes if you require this. There is more information on this proposed change on the Three Rivers council website, and their FAQ - but what do you think?
