posted 23 Feb 2012, 07:34 by Maria Larkin   [ updated 23 Feb 2012, 07:42 ]

An HS2 display is available at a temporary 'cafe' by the pedestrian crossing in Sycamore Road, Amersham on the Hill, opposite W H Smith. Not only can you see large updated maps of planned routes that have been changed, but also lots of information about HS2 and people who will talk you through what is now on the agenda. Also information about the possibility of it going to Heathrow.

It is open Monday to Saturday from 10am-4pm and there are refreshments available as well.

The HS2 Action Group is also busy fund-raising to pay the cost of legal representation to fight against this going ahead. There is more information on what is taking place at Drake Hall, Amersham Community Centre, Chiltern Avenue HP4 6AH on Sunday 18th March at 7.30pm.

The Action Group is also staging a wonderful "Murder Mystery" produced and directed by local thespian Lindsey Haubner from Coleshill and the comedic script gives local sleuths the chance to try to deduce the perpetrator of the Murder, whilst enjoying a choice of excellent food from Ann Tennant of Beaconsfield who has produced a mouth watering 3 course menu which will be served between scenes. Sleuthing can be thirsty work, so lubrication will be at hand from our licensed bar offering a selection of wines beers and soft drinks.

All of this, plus good raffle and company can be yours and would make a wonderful Mothers Day gift, so reserve your seats now to avoid disappointment!
