The West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust is encouraging members of the public to take advantage of the valuable services provided by Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS). The services are being promoted during PALS Awareness week, which runs from Monday 14 June to Friday 18 June 2010.

PALS is a completely confidential service to help patients, carers and members of the public who need advice, have concerns or are not sure where to turn for help.

The service:
  • Advises and supports patients, their families and carers
  • Provides information on NHS services
  • Listens to your concerns and suggestions
  • Helps sort out problems quickly on your behalf
Lesley Lopez, Head of Patient Affairs said: “I am very pleased that we are highlighting the excellent work our PALS team. The team is here to help members of the public on a range of subjects. PALS can help you find a local service, offer advice if you have a problem or help to resolve an issue. I encourage people to use PALS because they can help you make the most of the local NHS provisions in your area.”

The PALS team will be promoting their services from 10.00 – 4.00 with information on PALS and Carers:
  • Watford General Hospital - Spice of Life Restaurant - Monday 14 June and Tuesday 15 June.
  • St Albans City Hospital – Gloucester Wing Reception –Wednesday 16 June.
  • Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Outpatients Department, Verulam Wing –Thursday 17 June and Friday 18 June.
