Chorleywood Village Day

Two big local events are booked for this year. One is the ever popular Village Day, organised by Chorleywood Parish Council on the common. This is Saturday, July 11 from 12 noon to 4pm.

Once again the Association will be taking a stand, so our officers and committee can meet members and potential members. Pictures of last year's show were featured in the Autumn Newsletter.

Rickmansworth Festival

On Saturday, May 16 and Sunday May 17 Rickmansworth's annual waterways festival will be producing fun for all the family. This is at the Aquadrome and Batchworth Lock with the usual display of colourful canal boats along the towpath of the Grand Union. Visitors can take a scenic boat ride from Batchworth Lock to Stockers Lock and back again. The times are 10.30 am to 10.30 pm (Saturday), 10.30 am to 5.00 pm (Sunday). There will be a former working boat and miniature canal garden and plenty to eat and drink.

lt is all brought together by volunteers from the Rickmansworth Waterways Trust, who will be asking for donations to help fund 'Learning the Lock' their canal education work with local schools.

Food will also be on offer on Village Day and demonstrations, including Guide Dogs for the Blind.
