Village Day Success

"The best village day yet" was the general feeling of this year's event. Thousands of peopleflooded on to the Common to enjoy stalls, attractions and to watch demonstrations from Majorettes, Morris dancers and Martial arts experts. There were also performances from Chorleywood Primary School Choir and Croxley School of Dance.

The attendance was remarkable considering the capriciousness of the weather. The CDRA were there along side other village organisations, with their best stall ever. The stall had a 1950's theme and a much more family friendly feel to it, with a game for the children where they could win sweets (like they hadn't had enough) and the adults could enjoy home baked cakes alongside the usual vital information like the need for a Children's playground in the village. "We wanted to create a much more comfortable environment for residents to come over and chat to us, with the changing demographics of the village it was important to appeal to all new young families and older people who have been members for years" explained Annette Naughton, our joint Vice- Chairman.

The stall was a great success, as was village day. Maybe next year's will be even better.
