posted 10 Nov 2012, 13:05 by Unknown user
We've been made aware of proposals to redevelop the Long Island Hotel in Rickmansworth.
A planning application has been submitted to Three Rivers DC

Demolition of existing hotel and restaurant and construction of 92 residential units comprising 87 apartments and 5 townhouses with associated accesses, parking spaces and communal amenity space
Long Island Exchange Victoria Close Rickmansworth Hertfordshire WD3 4EQ
Ref. No: 12/1794/FUL | Received: Mon 24 Sep 2012 | Validated: Thu 01 Nov 2012 | Status: Pending Consideration

The Long Island Exchange is an important local amenity in terms of hotel provision and provides incidental support to many local visits for business and pleasure purposes, and there's some general local concern about the application. The Residents' Association understands that the application will be determined by the Planning Committee.

A website campaigning to save the hotel has been set up - you can visit it at
And you can follow them on twitter @SaveLongIsland_

Residents have until the 22nd November to submit any comments about the proposed development to Three Rivers District Council.

Any comments should include the planning application reference 12/1794/FUL
You can view the application at: and you are encouraged to submit your objections through the online application system. You will have to register if this is the first time you have used this system.
