Land near Arnett Hills School up for sale?

As reported by the Watford Observer, a campaign by local residents to save an area of paddock grassland adjacent to Arnett Hills School in Berry Lane seems to be doomed for defeat.

Local residents have lost a planning battle to assign the land as being a "village green" and hence protected, however this petition was rejected by Hertfordshire County Council earlier in the year, and yesterday Three Rivers District Council's resources, policy and scrutiny committee were due to make a decision on whether to sell this and two other pieces of land in the district to developers to raise money.

The Residents' Assoication had previously supported the campaign group in their application for village green status in 2005. However, we've not been aware of the recent developments and are going to get back in touch with the residents to see if we can assist in any way.
