Three Rivers launches Site Options Development consultation

posted 12 Nov 2010, 05:10 by Unknown user   [ updated 12 Nov 2010, 05:40 ]
Three Rivers District Council have today launched a consultation as part of the Local Development Framework into potential sites for development within the district.

Site Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) will identify sites throughout the district for development up to 2026. This document is prepared in-line with the policies in the Development Core Strategy which sets out the vision and objectives for the spatial development of the area. The Site Allocations DPD sets out the allocation of sites as needed to achieve the objectives of the Core Strategy, and will form a very important part of planning policy when the new Local Development Framework is adopted in 2011.

This consultation is an initial stage in the preparation of the Site Allocations DPD but the final document is likely to contain the following:
  • Locations for a range of housing development to meet the needs of the local current and future population
(housing has already been consulted upon and is not included in this consultation)
  • Locations for a range of employment sites
  • Locations for mixed use development
  • Specific land requirements for cemetery use
  • Specific land requirements for education
  • Open spaces
More information is available on the Site Allocations Development Plan Document page on the Three Rivers Council website and we have copies of some of the key documents stored on our website. The consultation documents will be available for inspection at the Council offices and all the libraries in the District from 12 November 2010.
The consultation is open from 12 November 2010 and 14 January 2011.
