Closure of Shire Lane on Monday 4th March

posted 21 Feb 2013, 05:42 by Unknown user
We have been informed by Hertfordshire Highways of the closure of Shire Lane on Monday 4th March between the hours of 0930 and 1530 for resurfacing. The length of the road from Green Street to Heronsgate Road will be closed for the duration of the time.

A copy of a letter being circulated to local residents is available to view online

The closure will therefore also affect the crossing between Lower Road and Whitelands Avenue, and will be quite disruptive for local deliveries in the area. It will be quite difficult to get into the Chenies Estate area and could involve lengthy detours via Little Chalfont to use Burtons Lane.

We had included the need for remedial works on Shire Lane in autumn on our list of priority works for Chorleywood. The section between Chalfont Lane and Heronsgate has been particularly bad for a long time, but there are a number of pot holes developing along the central seam further down Shire Lane.

Residents are encouraged to make sure that the road is left clear on Monday 4th March and to avoid the area if possible to allow the work to be completed with the minimum amount of local disruoption.
