Chorleywood Residents’ Association will be holding their Community & Annual General Meeting at 8pm on Wednesday 15th May 2013 at the Memorial Hall, Common Road, Chorleywood.

The Hive Charity Committee who are spearheading the setting up of a community space in the heart of Chorleywood will give a talk on their proposed plans followed by an Open Forum.

Are you interested in your community? Want to find out what the Association has been doing on your behalf throughout the year?  Perhaps you’d like to become a committee member?  Please come along and learn more over a glass of wine.

The Association is managed by an Executive Committee and the committee meets approx every six weeks to discuss a range of local issues, such as planning, potholes and dog fouling to name a just a few.  They produce a twice yearly newsletter delivered to members by dedicated road reps.

Over the past few years our workload has grown due to the enthusiasm and energy of those who are passionate about our village.  We have a thriving website and twitter feed, send regular email updates to members who subscribe, have improved our newsletter and attend both the Village Day and Christmas Shopping nights so that residents know we are here. In addition we have recently completed a successful merger with the former Chenies Estate Residents Association so we now have a more united representative voice for Chorleywood. Any resident living in Chorleywood can join us for just £4.00 a year.

In addition to the website where you can contact the association, we now also have a dedicated phone line that takes messages which are directed to the relevant committee members for those members who need to contact us but who are not on the internet.  Please give us a call on 01923 537637 and someone will get back to you to help with your query or concern.

A number of our committee members are particularly busy and could really do with some help so we are always on the look out for people who care about local issues. We particularly need someone who can help us develop our website further and help us with our social media presence. Planning takes time too and help with this is always welcome.

So why not come along to our meeting, have a glass of wine and chat to us about what the association is doing on your behalf and the opportunities to join the committee. If you require a lift to the meeting please call and leave a message one the committee members would be more than happy to collect you and drop you home again!
